Founder Matching  ·  One a monthApplication only

One founder a month.

Every member is introduced to one other member each month. Chosen for both sides, checked by a person, and followed up. Not a list to browse. One name, one reason, one introduction.

The Promise

One founder a month. Chosen for you, not browsed.

Each month  ·  01

A name

One member, chosen for both of you. Never a list, never a queue.

Each month  ·  02

A reason

Why this pair, in plain words. Read it before you reply.

Each month  ·  03

An introduction

One message to both of you, the same day. Read by a person before it goes out.

Then we ask how it went, and next month is better for it.

02

The Method

Eight steps, run in order at the start of every month.

The runStep  ·  What happens  ·  Who
Step01
EligibilityReal, paying members with a profile. Set-asides are listed with a reason: dormant, thin, paused, unpaid.
The engine
Step02
Read profilesGoals, expertise, prompts, bio, stage, city and activity become asks and offers.
The engine
Step03
Score every pairSix dimensions, each 0 to 1, weighted. Complementarity carries the most.
The engine
Step04
Constraints and priorityNo repeats inside the window, blocks honoured, no two-dormant pairs. First-month and let-down members carry priority.
The engine
Step05
OptimiseMaximum-weight matching across the whole room. The best month for everyone, not the best partner for whoever is first in line.
The engine
Step06
ExplainThe breakdown, each member’s rank of the other, the runners-up and why they lost, warnings, and a written reason.
Then a person
Step07
Host fallbackThe odd member out, and anyone whose best pairing sits below the reserve, is introduced to the host.
The host
Step08
LearnFeedback tilts each member’s weights, adjusts reliability and priority, and moves the global weights a capped step once there is enough evidence. Every change is written down with its evidence.
The engine, in writing
Before anything is sent

The engine proposes. A person approves. Nothing goes out unread.

03

The Six Dimensions

Every pair is scored the same way. The weights, in the open.

DimensionWhat it measuresDefault weight
ComplementarityWhat one asks for, the other can give. Each ask counts once, scored in both directions and combined so a one-sided pair does not score well.32%
Common groundSame or adjacent industry and shared expertise, so the conversation starts from a shared vocabulary.16%
Stage fitCompany stage within a step of each other, or one step ahead when someone asked for advice.16%
ProximitySame room if possible: same metro first, same state next. Members who chose local discovery weigh this more.14%
TimingBoth recently in the app. The slower side sets the pace, so responsive members are kept together.12%
VarietyA different industry than last month, so a year of introductions covers the whole room. Starts in month two.10%

Both directions count. A pair that works for one member and not the other scores like a weak pair, not like half a good one.

Popularity is not a dimension. Likes and follower counts never decide a match.

The Terms

What we ask, and what we do not promise.

What we ask
Answer within the week. The introduction lands at the start of the month. A reply inside seven days keeps both calendars honest.
About an hour a month. One call, one coffee or one long thread. Enough to know whether there is more.
Tell us how it went.A rating and a line. It changes who you meet next.
What we do not promise
A friendship, a sale or a mentor. An introduction is an introduction. What it becomes is up to the two of you.
A specific member.Requests are read. Names are not guaranteed.
A match that repeats.A pair is not made twice inside a year. The room is the point.
